Armin van Buuren has reclaimed the number one spot on the 2012 DJ Mag Top 100 poll. Yesterday, DJ Mag began the countdown of artist who placed 150-101 and revealed the rest of the top 100 today but, let’s face it, the only spot that truly matters is number one.
In 2011, Armin van Buuren, was dethroned by David Guetta after an unprecedented four year run as the worlds #1 DJ. But after a massively successful year, AvB was able to recapture his spot, and David Guetta has dropped to number four.
There is no DJ more deserving of being called number one than Armin van Buuren, here is a recap of just some of his accomplishments in the past year: The ASOT 550 Invasion tour, which included stops at Beyond Wonderland and Ultra, was heard and seen by millions around the world who tuned in, streamed and had tickets for each of the six shows. Fans have been madly campaigning since the end of that tour for a chance to host an ASOT 600 event in their cities. AvB and his record label, Armada, won 5 IDMA awards including ,Best Global DJ. Armin has huge hits like “Suddenly Summer” and the European Championship of Football anthem, “We Are Here to Make Some Noise.” He also released the Universal Religion Chapter 6 album, and played on some of the world biggest stages like Electric Daisy Carnival and 14 shows at Privilege in Ibiza this summer. And the list goes on and on.
